Inspired by Numbers 11:34.
Ungrateful for the gifts that stopped them needing to grope
They grabbed for more with their hands so grubby
Galloping, gallivanting, gleefully they go
Down to their graves of gluttony
Grousing about days they could’ve spent gulping
Grapes and grains and game galore
Forgetting in their greed the greater groveling
The groaning and grief and the gore
They ignore the swirling gale of glory
The gout of flame to guide
Growing bored with their freedom story
They gnash their teeth and growl and gripe
Taking their generous God for granted
They grumble until they get
Mouths agape, gorge on what they are handed
And choke on the gristle and grit
